Wayne A. Strampe, 57, of Germantown, IA, passed away suddenly Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, IA.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar, IA, with the Rev. Tim Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Granville, IA. Visitation with family present will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Primghar. Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen. Strampe was born July 30, 1958, at Sioux Center, IA, the son of Orlynn and Luella (Stange) Strampe. He was raised in the Germantown area, baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown.
He married Darla “Ducky” Hohbach on July 11, 2009. Strampe & Ducky have shared their lives together for 23 years.
Strampe enjoyed fishing, trucking, and gardening. His favorite past time was cooking and baking. He currently owned S&W engineering. He loved well and lived well. He loved visiting and telling stories. Strampe enjoyed morning coffee while sharing gardening and cooking stories with his special neighbor Jim Drenth.
Survivors include his wife Ducky of Germantown, IA; six daughters: Amber Hohbach and special friend Nate Usher and his son Nathan of Cedar Rapids, Jesica Steeg of Sheldon, IA, Kati, April, Catlin and Shaina; several grandchildren; his sister, Jeanette (Jan) and her husband Doyle Wissink of Hull, IA; one niece Amber (Bob) Minard of Wisconsin; two nephews Justin Wissink and Josh (Aleisha) Wissink of Hull, IA; great-nieces and great-nephews, his mother-in-law, Shirley Krogman of Hospers; his brothers and sisters-in-law; Ronald (Tammy) Krogman of Germantown, IA, Larry Krogman of Ashton, IA, Sharon Krogman of Sheldon, IA, Carol (Terry) Jungers of Hospers, IA, Wayne (Jeanne) Krogman of Sibley, IA, Charlotte Roos of Hospers, IA, Alan Kreber of Granville, IA; his aunt, Verla Hibbing of Paullina, IA; and several cousins.
He was preceded by his parents; his father-in-law, Dennis Krogman; sister-in-law, Donna Kreber; and a brother-in-law, Dennis “Punk” Roos.
Casket bearers will be Mark Merley, Steve Merley, Mario Wulf, Jim Drenth, Josh and Justin Wissink, Joel Mueller and Ed Corcoran.
