DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MRS. FRED JETTER

On Monday afternoon, May 4th, this whole community was very much shocked with the sad news that Mrs. Fred Jetter had passed away, following a severe sickness that lasted about two weeks. Her obituary follows:

Minnie Wessels, born in Groningen, Holland, July 29, 1882, came with her family to this country and settled near Sheldon when she was ten years of age. She was united in marriage to Fred Jetter October 29, 1899 at Paullina, Ia. To this union three children were born: Mrs. Philip Anderson, Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Paul Gaul and Mrs. Harry Purdy, Sioux City, Iowa.

The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, Mr. Fred Jetter, the above named children, three grandchildren: her father, John Wessels, Sheldon; and three brothers, John Wessels, Jr., Ashton; Herman Wessels, Sheldon, and Henry Wessels of Sibley; a sister and her mother having preceded her in death four and three years ago respectively.

Mrs. Jetter was a woman that was very much attached to her home and family, always devoting her time to the best Interests of her loved ones and taking great pride In the welfare of the family circle. She was of a calm and pleasing disposition, quiet and unasumlng in her ways, very neigh­borly in spirit and attitude, and well liked by all who had the privilege of knowing her in her domestic and social life. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the local Presbyterian church and took much interest in the activities of that organization, being often present at the meetings and doing her part, along with others, for the success of the society. As a wife, mother and neighbor she will be missed for a very long time.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. H. P. Morgan, were held In the home and at the Presbyterian church on Thursday afternoon, May 7th, the choir singing several appropriate songs during the service, with Mrs. Weston D. Ralston at the piano. Every seat in the auditorium and lecture room was occupied by friends of the family from near, and far, with floral tributes that were beautiful, costly and artis­tically arranged, all of which must have brought much comfort to the bereaved ones on that very sad occasion.

Interment was in Prairie View cemetery, the following friends of the family acting as pallbearers. Theodore Moll, Albert Gaudian, William Wilson, Henry Orthman, Theodore Bauman and Hans Erickson.

The out-of-town relatives to attend the funeral are. John Wessels, Jr., of Ashton; Mr. and Mrs. John Lamfers of Ashton; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wessels and family of Sheldon; Mr. Henry Boneschans and family of San­born; Herman Harms and son Henry of Archer; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jetter of Trosky, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Jetter of Trosky, Minn.: Mr. Henry Voss of Pipestone, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. George Ehlers of Worthlngton, Minn.; Mrs. Clyde Hester, of Beresford, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Claussen of Gladbrook, Iowa, and Harry Claussen of Eagle Grove, Iowa.
