1868 EMMA JETTER LAUE 1941

Emma Jetter was born at Davenport, Iowa, on July 28, 1868, to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jetter, and passed away at her home, Nov. 27, 1941.

When she was but a small child she was taken by her parents to Tama County where the family resided for several years until they moved to Paullina. in 1885. It was in this community that she grew to womanhood, and where she has continued to reside.

In 1892 she was united in marriage with Richard Laue, and the young couple began to farm near Paullina. With the exception of three years spent in northern Minnesota, the community around Paullina has always been their home. They have occupied the present home east of Paullina for a great many years.

Into their family were born seven children: Edward and Albert Laue of Paullina; Harry Laue of Sutherland Fred Laue of Chicago; Delmar Laue of Sioux City; Mrs. Geo. Ehlers of Sherburn, Minn; and Mrs. Clyde Hester of Pasadena, Calif. All of these, together with her husband, Richard, survive her. She leaves also fourteen grandchildren, and three great grand-grandchildren.

She loved her home, and worked without stint of self for it and for her family. Several years ago stroke compelled her to forego much of her work around the house, and her health continued uncertain until several weeks ago, when she was confined to her bed.

Mrs. Laue was among the great number of people who came to this part of the state from the eastern counties, and there are many who remember the part arte took when this rural section was young and growing. Her friends join the family in cherishing her quiet deeds and her memory.

Jetter, Mrs. Hans Jetter of Trosky, Minn, and daughter Mrs. Oheadens of Rock Rapids, Noble Jetter of Sheldon, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laue of Chicago, HL, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gaul and family, Mr. and Mrs Harry Purdy and family and Delmar Laue of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Anderson and family of Meriden, Harry Laue and family of Sutherland, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ehlers and Willis and George, Jr. of Sherburn, Minn., Clifford Ehlers of Monteray, Minn, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Blowers of Sherburn.
