Ida Dorothea Katherine Peters, nee Hein, the daughter of Fred and Amelia Jipp Hein, was born October 19, 1888 in Muscatine County near Davenport, Iowa. She passed away July 20, 1972, at the Hartley Hospital at the age of 83.

She came to the Hartley area with her parents at the age of twelve and had been a resident of O'Brien County since that time.

On January 16, 1908 she was united marriage to Harry Peters. The couple farmed in the Hartley area until moving to town in 1948.

She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley and its Dorcas Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Harry in 1950, as well as one brother and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merle (Velma) Vogt of Hartley, two grandsons and their wives, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Emil Hein of Hartley, three sisters, Mrs. Hulda Hirt of Hartley, Mrs. Frank (Hattie) Mast of Estherville, and Mrs. LuWanda Grapenthin of Spencer, many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley, Iowa on July 24, 1972 with Rev. Keith Scott officiating.

The casket attendants were Everett Hintz, Arliss Hein, Everett Fahlenkamp, Earl Peters, Emmett Hirt and Robert Sampson.

Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.
