THOMAS R. BUNT

Thomas R. Bunt, son of Thomas and Mary Bunt, was born December 23, 1886, at LeMars, Iowa, and passed away July 7, 1959, at the Sioux Valley Hospital, Cher­okee, after an illness of three weeks. He had attained the age of 72 years, 6 months and 14 days.

His early life was spent in the LeMars community. On Feburary 16, 1910, he was united in marriage with Helen Stowell of LeMars. To this union one daughter, Naomi, was born.
Mr. Bunt farmed near LeMars for five years. He later moved to Ida Grove, Iowa, where he operated a grocery store. In 1929, he moved with his family to a farm one and a half miles north of Moneta, where he lived until his retirement in 1954. For the past five years, he has resided in Cherokee.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ida Grove and of Beacon Lodge No. 495, A.F. and AJVI. of Hartley.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Naomi Epping of Hartley; one son-in-law, Gerald Epping; three grandchildren, Richard Epping, Joan (Mrs. Robert Harrington), and Tommy Epping and three great-grand­children. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Tom was a lover of nature and spent many hours working with flowers. He was a kind husband and father and pleasant memories of him will live long with those who loved him so much.

Funeral services were conducted at the Foley Funeral Home on Friday morning at 10:30 by the Reverend Raymond A. Roloff, pastor of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Stanley Hooper and Mrs. Lyle Shinkle sang, "Beyond The Sunset" and "In the Garden", ac­companied by pianist, Jon Alm-gren, who also played other music.

Interment was made in Pleasant View Cemetery.
