Funeral services for Edna M. Appeldorn were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 1992, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. The pallbearers were Dale Peters, Vince Rohrs, Chad Nelson, Max Rohrs, Ed Nelson and Grant Nelson. Bob & Annabelle Leitz and Leonard and Naoma Schoof were in charge of flowers. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.
OBITUARY

Edna M. Appeldorn, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Hilbert Lahann, was born August 19, 1896, in Grant Township near Sutherland, Iowa. She received her education in rural schools in the Sutherland area.

On February 10, 1915, she was united in marriage to George Appeldorn in Sutherland, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm south of Paullina where they farmed. They moved into Paullina in 1942 but continued their farming operation.

George preceded her in death on December 25, 1964, in Primghar. Edna continued to make her home in Paullina and for the last couple of months at Millie's Rest Home in Sutherland.

She passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 1992, at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 95 years, 4 months and 26 days.

She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith on February 5, 1978, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. She was also a member of the Paul­lina Senior Citizens.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory two daughters: Berneice and her husband Darrell Peters of Paullina and Mary Rex of Westminster, Colorado; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; also, a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; one son, Henry; one daughter, Gerry; parents and 7 brothers and sisters.
