Former Resident, Mrs. Paul, Is Buried Here

Mrs. Sadie Paul, wife of a pioneer Paullina physician, was buried here last Wednesday afternoon following services held at the Presbyterian church. The Rev L. R. Middents officiated. Burial was in Prairie View cemetery. Mrs. Paul died at the home of her daughter in Yuma, Colo on Nov. 1.

Sarah Jane Jennings was born in Louraisville, Pa., in 1863. She moved with her parents to Iowa Falls, Iowa, when about eleven years old.

When teaching school at Paullina, she met and married Dr. Charles S. Paul, local physician and surgeon. To them two children were born: Denton J. Paul of Garden Grove, Cal., and Florence Paul Gardner of Yuma, Colo. Dr. Paul died in his early 30's leaving his widow and two small children. For many years Mrs. Paul lived in Paullina.

Besides her son and daughter, she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Grace Cannon, Sweetwater, Tn., Mrs. Charlotte Hanson of Des Moines and Mrs. Mate Dent of Portland, Oregon. Also three grandchildren.

Those attending the funeral services from out of town were Mrs. Virgil Hancher, Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bachman of Manson. Mrs Morgan Taylor and daughter, Kay of Chicago; Mr and Mrs. Roy Bosworth, Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. William Gardner, Yuma, Colo.; Denton Paul, Garden Grove, Calif.; and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Phelps of Milford.
