Roger W. Kleinwolterink, the son of Samuel and Jeanette (Lubbers) Kleinwolterink, was born on January 24, 1933 and raised on a farm near Hull, Iowa. He received his education in Hull and graduated from Western Academy in 1951.

On May 23, 1952, he was united in marriage to Carol Gertrude Vander Stoep in the American Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD, where he worked for the Hydrox Cookie Factory. After the birth of their daughter, Dianne, they moved to a farm west of Sheldon, where he farmed until 1980. Roger then worked as an Agronomist for Land-O-Lakes Inc. until his retirement in the spring of 1998.

After the death of his wife, Carol on September 23, 2002, Roger moved into Sheldon. He passed away at his home in Sheldon, Iowa, reaching the age of 73 years, 11 months and 30 days.

He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida to visit family. He also enjoyed golfing, reading and playing cards. Roger and Carol were fortunate to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with an Alaskan Cruise.

Left to cherish his memory, are his two daughters, Dianne Moore of London, KY and Janet Potter and her husband, Dennis of Sheldon, IA; seven grandchildren, Angela and Aaron Hopper; Amanda and Tye Chastain; Aubree Moore; Jamee and Jerry Messer; Shantele Brink; Lindsey and Don Roy Collett; Jacob McClellan; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Kiley and Eli; a son-in-law, Brett McClellan; a brother, Carl and his wife, Jeannette Kleinwolterink of Hull, IA; his step-mother, Ann Kleinwolterink of Sheldon, IA; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a daughter, Donna Kay McClellan in 2003.
