Cora Isabel (Monroe) Kammerer, the daughter of Oba Eugene Monroe and Olhe Bessie (Funderburk) Monroe, was born September 18, 1934 in Franklin Co , Texas She joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953, during the Korean War and served two years.

She was united in marriage to Roger E Kammerer on July 17, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona and they celebrated 52 years together. She lived in Swansboro, North Carolina for 17 years and moved with her husband to Primghar, Iowa in 1980. She was a floral designer for over 30 years and worked for many years at Paradox Florist in Sanborn, Iowa.

She was a member of the United Church of Primghar and a life member of the Women Marine Association She was a loving mother, wonderful cook, seamstress, golfer and avid reader. She laughed often, loved life and was a mean scrabble player. She also enjoyed her Texas roots and her Native American heritage and was extremely proud of having served in the Marine Corps.

Cora passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Prairie View in Sanborn, Iowa. Memorial Services for Cora I. Kammerer, age 73, of Pnmghar, Iowa, were 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the United Church of Primghar; Primghar, Iowa with Rev. Cory Flanigan officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Primghar, Iowa with a Graveside service 10:15 A.M. Tuesday June 3, 2008. The Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Primghar, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Cora is survived by her loving husband, Roger of Primghar; four children, Sharon Domingo and her husband, Richard of Elko, NV; Roger Kammerer Jr. of Greenville, NC; Terry Kammerer and his wife, Donna of South Mills, NC; Gerry Kammerer and his wife, Jennifer of Lexington SC; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.
