PETER TRIERWEILER

Funeral services for Peter Trierweiler, who passed away on Thursday morning, were held at the Catholic church in Milford, Monday morning, May 16, at 9 o'clock with Father Dentlinger officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery at Hartley. Pall bearers were neighbors of the deceased from Hartley. They were John and Pete Nebel, Ed Peterson, Albert Mohni, Tony Jordan and Fred Boetel.

Peter Trierweiler, the son of Peter Trierweiler and Maria Anna Trierweiler, nee Rolles, was born in Egel by Trier Germany, June 29, 1870, and passed away at his home on May 12, 1938, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 13 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith.

In 1890 he was united in marriage to Louisa Kessler. To this union were born two children a daughter, Caroline Louise, and a son, Peter Anthony.

In August, 1900, he came to this country and settled at Alton, Iowa Five months later, on January 9, 1901, Mrs. Trierweiler and daughter Louise came to the United States and joined him at Alton. The following year they moved to a farm near Sutherland. They lived there until 1910 when Mr Trierweiler, his wife and son moved to Huron, S. Dak., returning to Iowa in 1914.

Since that time he had been engaged in farming near Round Lake, Minn , Harris and Hartley, Iowa, moving to Spirit Lake in March of this year, where he departed this life on May 12 at 11:50 A. M., after being ill for several weeks.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johann and Joseph, and his sister Maria, and a grand-­daughter, Lorene Ginger

He leaves to mourn his de­parture his wife, and daughter, Louise, Mrs. Will Ginger of Sutherland, and son, Peter Anthony, of Spirit Lake; a brother, Mathias in Egel, Germany; six grand­children, Mrs. Alfred Steuck, Evelyn. Dorothy, William and Betty Joy Ginger, and Tony Trierweiler, Jr, two great grand­children. Lorraine and Kenneth Steuck; and Mrs. Tony Trierweiler, Will Ginger, Alfred Steuck, and a number of other relatives in Germany and a host of friends.
