RUTH HARRINGTON

Ruth Irene Sweeney, daughter of James F and Margaret Sweeney, was born in Franklin Township, O'Brien County, Iowa on May 5. 1895 She lived her youth, attended school and grew to young womanhood in this vicinity.

She was united in marriage to Leo M Harrington on April, 1919. After their marriage they lived in Sanborn, Iowa and in 1943 moved to Hartley, Iowa.

Her husband, Leo, preceded her in death in 1947 and she continued to make her home there until the time of her death on February 4, 1977 at St.Joseph Mercy Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 81 years, eight months and 29 days.

She is survived by six children: Mrs. Lloyd (Mary) Uhe of Hartley: Iowa; Lorrene Moermond of Hartley, Iowa; Mrs. Marjone Yokel of Albany, N.Y., Donald of Melbourne, Australia, James of Mount Airy, Md. and Robert of Danville, Calif,; 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother John (Ren) Sweeney of Rockford, Ill., and one sister, Mrs Goldie White of Sheldon, la.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hartley, Iowa.

Funeral services were held. Tuesday, Feb 8 at 10.30 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hartley with Father Tom Munn officiating. Interment was in St. Cecelia Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
