Henry L. Hansen Dies Suddenly; Services Held Here Saturday

Henry Hansen, 65, a resident of Paullina since 1922, died suddenly Wednesday evening after suffering two successive heart attacks at his home. He had been in good health.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Gaudian Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Sohn of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating Burial was in West Prairie View cemetery

Henry L. Hansen, the son of Nicholous P. and Marie Kammerer Hansen, was born at Gladbrook, Iowa, on February 4, 1893. He was baptized and confirmed in and regularly attended the Evangelical Peace church of Gladbrook. He attended grade and high school there, and later entered Highland Park College of Des Moines, receiving the degree of Graduate of Pharmacy He served as a registered pharmacist in Des Moines for four years, while working on an advanced pharmaceutical degree

He served in the army at camp Gordon, Georgia during World War I.

He married Ann Langholz on June 25, 1929 in Sioux Falls, S. Dak. They resided in Paullina where they operated a combination beauty and barber shop. In 1943 he began work for the Iowa State Liquor Commission at their store here in Paullina, where he worked faithfully for the last 15 years.

Besides his wife, Ann, he is survived by one son, Gerald of Mankato, Minn., one grandson, and one brother, Nick of Beaman.

His parents, six brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Attending the services were a great number of relatives from a distance, and many close friends of the community.
