Services Held For Mrs. James Davis, 97

Funeral services for Mrs. James Davis 97 of Paullina were held on Tuesday, July 24 at the Presbyterian church here. Mrs. Davis passed away July 21 at the hospital in Primghar.

Rev. Robert Hickman, pastor of the church, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Berwyn Prince, Willard Lubbers, Emil Haht, Wallace Smith, Clarence Rohlfsen and Ernest Wilson. Music, was furnished by three great granddaughters. Mrs. John Middents III and Deborah Crouse sang a duet accompanied by their sister Kathy Crouse as organist.

Burial was in Prairie View cemetery with Gaudian Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Elma Moffitt Davis was born December 7. 1874 at Ramseur, North Carolina. She was married to Mr. Davis in November 1896 at Starr, North Carolina. They moved to Paullina in 1901.

Mr. Davis was killed in an auto accident in February 1950. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Delma, Mrs. Chalmer Smith, and an infant son.

Survivors include her daughter Maidie, Mrs. Harry Crouse of Paullina, one son J. Warren Davis of Lowell, Mass., one brother Homer of Ramseur, North Carolina, 10 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
