SERVICES HELD JANUARY 5 FOR ROBERT NICHOLSON

Funeral services were held for Robert S. Nicholson Tuesday, January 5 at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar, with Rev. Paul Hansen officiating. Mr. Nicholson died January 2, 1982 at Primghar. Pallbearers were Ed Robinson. Bill Edwards, Vernon Ruschmarm, Ronald Aldred, John Roos and Warren Mulder. Burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Primghar.

Robert Stuart Nicholson was born April 27, 1914 at Jefferson, South Dakota to Mary and Alex Nicholson. In 1926 the family moved to a farm near Primghar, Iowa. Robert attended Primghar schools, graduating in 1931. After six years in California he returned to Primghar and began farming.

In September of 1941 he married Elizabeth Colby at the Colby farm near Atkinson, Illinois. In 1946 Robert established a grain business in Archer, Iowa. He later sold this to begin a partnership with Clay Edwards in a grain elevator at Primghar.

Robert is survived by his wife Betty; three children, Mary Sanford of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Jane Dorr of Bridgeport, W.V. and William Nicholson of Wenona, Illinois; two grandchildren, Barbara and Bobby Dorr; one sister, Mrs. Florence Bolender of Primghar and one brother, Alex Nicholson of Highland, California.
