Mrs. Hans Anderson, 80, a resident of Paullina for many years, died Sunday, August 3, at a nursing home in Pendleton, Oregon, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Gaudian Funeral Home in Paullina on Friday, Auust 8, with the Rev William D. Bai, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial was in the Prairie View cemetery.
Dorothea Marie Anderson, the daughter of Hans Jensen and Anna Marie Haahr, was born on September 30, 1877 near Decatur, Illinois. Her early childhood was spent on a farm near Alta, Iowa.
In 1898 she was married to Hans Anderson at Paullina and resided there until seven years ago, when sen went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Muriel Wilcoxon at Vale, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her husband and six children.
Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Wilcoxon, two sons, Howard L. Anderson, Tacoma, Wash., and Arthur H. Anderson, Mason City, and eight grandchildren. Also three sisters, Mrs. Martin Anderson, Primghar, Mrs. Elsie Butler, Columbiana, Ohio, Mrs. James Baker, Nelson, Minn., and a large number of relatives and friends.
At the time of her death, she had reached the age of 89 years, 10 months and 3 days.
