Murvel Elmer Boardman

Services were held for Murvel Boardman on Monday, December 7 at Turner Funeral Home in Milford, Iowa with Rev. Robert Vaage officiating. Pallbearers were Ted Aldag, Steve Branstetter, Eric Boardman, Lonny Boardman, Freeman Knudtson and Jack Zweibahmer. Interment was in Little Sioux Cemetery in Milford.

Obituary

Murvel Elmer Boardman was bom on September 13, 1903 to William and Tilda (Knudtson) Boardman at Okoboji, Iowa. He attended school through the 8"' grade. Murvel was baptized into the Lutheran faith. He was a member of the Lutheran church all his life.

He entered the United States Army on October 19, 1942 at Camp Dodge, Iowa. He served his country proudly until receiving his honorable discharge at Camp Adair, Oregon on March 13, 1943.

Murvel made his home in Milford, Iowa Jameson and Trenton, Missouri. He was a life-long farmer. He enjoyed attending livestock sales and driving his truck. He loved to travel, spending time in Arizona, Florida, Idaho and Washington, DC. Most of all, he enjoyed farming with his brother, James, at Jameson, Missouri.

Murvel passed away at Millie's Rest Home in Sutherland, Iowa on December 3, 1998 at the age of 95. He had been a resident there since July 31,1998.

Left to cherish his memory are his , sisters, Margie Robbins of Washington, DC, Cleeta Bingman of Madrid, IA, Kay Branstetter of Milford and one brother, Gail Boardman of Sutherland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James, Willie, Stanley and Robert, sisters Loretta Elgeson, Inez Cohen, Mary Alice Steinhart, Belle Hugunin and Anna Belle Eaton.
