Services Held March 26 for Gertie Axdahl, 90

Funeral services were held on Friday. March 26 at the Siloam Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. for Gertie Axdahl. Mrs. Axdahl passed away March 24 at the Primghar Care Center at the age of 90 years. 3 months and 20 days. Rev. Russell Schilling officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Herman Axdahl. Arnic Charlton. John Hinz, Glenn Berntson. Oscar Fjeld, and Henry Van Heuvelen. Fred and Betty Schuknecht sang two hymns accompanied by Steve Berntson as organist. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery near Paullina with arrangements under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home

Gertie Axdahl. daughter of George and Julia Delan Axdahl, was born Dec. 1891 in Paullina. She attended schools in Paullina, graduating in 1909.

On Feb. I5. 1916 she was united in marriage to Bert Axdahl in Paullina. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Gaza area a few years before moving northeast of Paullina where they farmed for many years. Bert preceded her in death on May 22, 1976. Gertie remained at her home until entering the Primghar Care Center in August of 1977 and made her home there until her passing on Wednesday. March 24, 1982 reaching the age of 90 years, three months and 20 days.

Gertie was a member of the Siloam Lutheran Church of Paullina and active in many of the activities of the church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: one daughter. Mrs. Art (Margaret) Kimblad of Paullina, three sons, Gilbert and Martin, both of Paullina and Lester of St. Paul. Minn.: 12 grandchidlren; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Isabelle Axdahl of Sturgis, S.D.

Gertie was. preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert and one son, Bentley, two brothers and one sister.
