George E Veeder

George E. Veeder was born In Poynette, Wisconsin, in the year of 1855 being thus 55 years old at death. From Wisconsin he came to Iowa settling first at Traer.

There he was united in marriage in the year 1880 to Miss Laura Farnum. The year following, 1881. they removed to 0' Brien county, settling three miles south of Paullina on a farm for one year. They then removed to Paullina which continued to be their residence for 24 years. Some three years, or more since, they removed to a farm in the vicinity of Sisseton, South Dak., where he died Saturday afternoon, April 9th.

Mr. Veeder had been looking unusually well of late until the day before his death that it assumed sufficient seriousness to even attract attention. The end came suddenly and was a surprise to all. He was lying down, and had just said to his wife he felt as if he were going to faint. She turned about to bring some water but by the time she returned he was gone. He died of paralysis of the heart.

His mother had died just three months to a day before him. his father had died 17 years ago. Two brothers and two sisters survive of his father's family.

Besides his wife, in his own immediate family, he is survived by __ children, one son 18 years old and three daughters, the youngest an infant 15 months old.

Mr. Veeder was long known in business circles here, as a member of various fraternal organizations and as a functionary as member of the ___ council. He was a member of Masonic order, the Oddfellows me, Eastern Star and the Knights of Pytheas.
