Mrs. Gust Anderson

Hilda Marie Josephine, wife of Gust Anderson, born in Norrkeping, Sweden, Spet 15th, 1864, died April 8th, 1919 at her home in Sheldon, Ia.

Deceased was confirmed in the Lutheran church when a girl and continued in that faith until her death.

She was married to Gust Anderson in the year 1895, and to this union, two children were born, Ruth and Paul, Ruth having passed on before. She leaves her husband and son besides an aged father and mother and also three brothers to mourn her loss.

A short service was conducted in the home at Sheldon by Rev. Westlake, Monday morning after which the remains were taken to Paullina where funeral services were conducted in the Presbyterian church by Dr. Thompson at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.

She was laid to rest at Prairie View cemetery, beside her two daughters, Ruth and Rachael, the latter being of a former marriage.

Concerning her, the Sheldon Sun says: "Deceased was taken with tuberculosis about three years ago. Despite of her gradually failing condition, she was hopeful almost to the end.

"She was a kind wife and mother and friend. Until a few years ago, the Andersons lived in Baker township, where they spent many years. Friends there as well as here mourn her departure. Her influence in the home will be missed beyond expression and to the bereaved husband and child, the sympathy of all is extended."
