Funeral services for Wilbert W. Hoermann were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 1990, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gennantown, Iowa, with Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. The honorary pallbearers were Leonard Richter, Jeff Kummerfeldt, Norman Meyer, Lorenz Kruse, James Tesch and Henry Zeeb. The pallbearers were Richard Mesncr, Timothy Ebel, Dennis Ebel, Randall Mesner, Douglas Ebel and Jeffrey Otto. The final resting place is St. John's Cemetery, Germantown, IA, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Wilbert W. Hoermann, the son of Emil and Claudina Pauling Hoermann, was born March 29, 1918 in Iona, Minn. He moved with his family in 1928 to the Germantown, Iowa, area, where he attended school at St. John Lutheran School.

On May 16, 1943, he was united in marriage to Darlene Ebel in Germantown, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple settled in Germantown where he was employed in the Lange-Miller store for many years.

He began farming in 1952 south of German-town until 1971, when they retired to Germantown. For the next 15 years the couple were janitors of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown until 1986 when ill health forced his retirement.

He continued to make his home in Germantown until entering the St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City and passing away on Sunday, August 5, 1990, reaching the age of 72 years, 4 months and 6 days.

He was baptized on April 14, 1918. in Iona, Minn., and later confirmed on March 20, 1932, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown, which he currently was a member.

Wilbert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darlene of Germantown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Roy Pearson of Overland, Missouri and Peg and Jeff Fox of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; a niece, Pam and Daryl Culler of Cedar Creek, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Nichole and Abby Fox, Jonathan Pearson, Shannon, Ryan, Angela, Daisy, Mathew and Rachel Culler; one sister and husband, Evelyn and Harold Lundie of Germantown; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie in 1962 and his parents.
