Funeral services for Claude Whited, Sr., were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 1989, at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Gregory Bock officiating. The pallbearers were Russell Carver, Ed Brown, Bill Miller, Roderick Waller, Dan Struve, Jr., and Brian Miller. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Claude Whited, Sr., the son of George and Celia Whited, was born August 15, 1900, in Boone, Iowa. Claude attended schools in the Boone area.

On April 22, 1925, he was united in marriage to Edith Fechter at Sanborn, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Paullina area until 1944 when they moved to a farm near Marcus. They continued farming for forty years, retiring several years ago.

Claude passed away at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina on Wednesday, May 10,1989, reaching the age of 88 years, 8 months and 25 days.

Claude leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Edith of Marcus; two sons and daughter-in-laws, James and Alice Whited of Marcus and Claude, Jr. and Mary Lou Whited of Marcus; one daughter, Margaret Whited of LeMars, Iowa; two grandchildren, David and Diane; also a host of other relatives and friends.
