Services Held for Adolf F. Heithus

Services for Adolf F. Heithus, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown, with the Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. Pallbearers were Lloyd Heithus Jr., David Heithus, Bemie Bruns, Jeff Heithus, Brian Heithus, and Randy Bruns. "Jerusalem the Golden", "Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me", and "Jesus, Still Lead On", were sung by the congregation and "Lass Mich.Gehn" was sung by the Women's Choir with Mrs. Linda Brockmann at the organ. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ericksen and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Hoermann were in charge of flowers. The final resting place is St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Germantown, Iowa. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Adolf Fritz Heithus, the son of Friedrich and Anna Menke Heithus, was born February 6, 1902 at Bruchhausen, Germany. He received his education in Germany. On December 16,1925, he came to the United States.

On September 2, 1934, he was united in marriage to Berdina Richter in Germantown. After their marriage, the couple farmed in rural Paullina for many years until 1970. They moved into Germantown in 1978.

Adolf passed away on Sunday, December 2, 1984 at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 82 years, 9 months and 26 days. Adolf was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Germany and was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Adolf is survived by his wife, Berdina of Germantown; two sons, Loren of Elgin, Illinois; and Lloyd of Paullina; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Bernadine) Bruns of Paullina, Mrs. Henry (Rosella) Scott of Norfolk, Neb., and Mrs. David (Caroline) Gomez of Sioux City; 23 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and 3 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Dora Knuppelmeyer of Hamburg, Germany; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson and two brothers.
