Services Held for Arlene Brookfield

Services for Arlene Brookfied were held at the United Methodist Church in Sutherland, Wednesday, November 21, 1984 at 10:30' a.m. with Rev. James Nicholson officiating. "How Great Thou Art" and "I Love To Tell The Story" were sung by the congregation. Mrs. Elaine Leonard was organist. Casket Bearers were: Strookfield, Mark Treinon, Donald Anderson, Jim Jensen, Randy Jahn, David Andersen. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Miller and Mrs. Alvie Frerk were in charge of flowers. Committal was at Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland with Baumgarten Funeral Home in , charge of arrangements.

OBITUARY

Arlene Marian Brookfield, the daughter of Martin and Ann Jensen Andersen, was born on May 11, 1917 at Hammond, Wisconsin. The family moved to Iowa and she graduated from high school in Calumet.

She was united in marriage to Beryl Brookfield on January 1, 1936 and their married life was spent living in Sutherland where they owned and operated Brookfield Chevrolet until Beryl's passing in 1978.

Arlene remained active in the business as well as being a member of the United Methodist Church at Sutherland, including one of the circles. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sutherland Senior Citizens.

She passed away on November 18, 1984 at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, having reached the age of 67 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons and their wives, Richard and Marlene Brookfield of Sutherland, Lorin and Ragean Brookfield of Paullina; one daughter and her husband, Jean and Larry Dau of Sutherland; six grandchildren, Dawn Jensen, Nicole Brookfield, Steven and Todd Brookfield, Amy and Arica Dau; two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Lindsay Jensen; her mother-in-law, Alma Smith of Sutherland; four brothers, Lawrence Andersen of Sanborn, Elwin Andersen of Sutherland, Martin Andersen of Orange, California, Roger Anderson of Anken; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Jahn of Aurelia, Mrs Art (Neva) Jahn of Alta Vista, Iowa, Mrs. Irvin (June) Witte of Laurens; other relatives and friends.
