Adam Muckler Passes Away
Death Came Saturday Night after Illness of about Ten Days -- Funeral Services Held Wednesday Afternoon

Adam Muckler passed from this life at his farm home a half mile south of town. He had been sick about a week or ten days, suffering from stomach and lung complications. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. H.F. Williams officiating. On account of the presence of scarlet fever in the home, the funeral services were held out of doors. Interment was at Prairie View cemetery.

In the death of Adam Muckler, the community loses one of its most industrious and thrifty farmers. Throughout his years of manhood he seemed to know not what it was to be tired. His energy was largely bend upon accumulating his share of this world's goods and in this he was very successful. He was a man who provided well for his family and looked after their welfare. He was very liberal in his gifts to charitable work that he thought worthy. Thos whome he chose as friends found him congenial and companionable and faithful to the obligations of friendship. He will be missed from the circles of his business acivities and by many who enjoyed his friendship and acquaintance.

Adam Muckler was born December 17, 1866, at Geneseo, Illinois. Died March 27, 1920 at his farm home south of Paullina, Iowa. At the age of twenty-three years, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Schleede of Gilman (?) , Iowa. He and his wife took up their residence on a farm near Newburg, Ia., where they lived for sixteen years.

To this happy union were born 9 children, seven of whom live to mourn the death of the father, two dying in infancy, Carl and Minnie.

Those who survive are Mrs. Henry Witte, of this community; Mrs. Paul Rabe, of Latcher, S.D.; Mrs. Ernest Carnahan, of near Sutherland, Ia.; Mrs. Oliver Olson, of near Starbuck, Minn.; and Clara, William and Florence who are still at home.

The other members of the family who live to mourn the death of Adam Muckler are his wife, three brothers, Fred, Nicholas and Jacob who all reside in Powesheik county; three sisters, Tina and Lizzie who live at Grinnell, Iowa, and Maggie who lives at Montezuma, Iowa, and eight grandchildren.

The deceased and his family moved to this community about twelve years ago, taking up his residence on a farm south of town. By his untiring effort and labor he has built up one of the choice farms of this section. He will be greatlymissed from the neighborhood in which he has lived these last years of his life.
