Services held for Norma W. Anderson

Norma W. Andersen, 92, of Paullina, died January 28, 1999 in Orange City, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 1999 at Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet with Rev. Lola Rosenberger officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina. Arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home, Paullina.

Norma Wilhelmina Andersen was born at Paullina, Iowa on October 17, 1906 to William Sr. and Clara (Puhrmann) Appeldorn. She received her education in schools around Paullina. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and crocheting. All her family have items she crocheted for them.

On January 1, 1929 she married Walter Edward Beermann. They farmed several farms around Paullina. He passed away May 25, 1937, drowning in a flash flood north of Paullina.
She lived ten years with her parents and then married Hans Andersen on December 18, 1947. They farmed farms at Sutherland, Primghar and Germantown.

After Han's death on March 21, 1960, she moved to Paullina and cared for her parents and worked a few years in Wide View Rest Home. She entered Wide View Rest Home in September of 1998.

She leaves, to, mourn three daughters and their husbands; Caroline and Wendell Rensink Sr., Boyden, Bea and Dr. Conrad Laursen, Rock Rapids, and Betty and Brian Engelke, Sutherland; also five sons and their wives: Ronald and Betty Beermann, Paullina, Merle and Jan Beermann, Lake View, Arkansas, Merlin and Jen Beermann, Sheldon, Henry and Carol Andersen, Hartley, and Bradley and Darcy Andersen, Urbandale, Iowa; son-in-law Verdean Blumeyer, Boyden; her brother Raymond and his wife Ella Appeldorn; three sisters-in-law: Luella, Evelyn and Marcella Appeldorn, all of Paullina; also twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two daughters, Luella in infancy and Darlene Blumeyer; her sisters, Viola Hattermann and Elsie Westphal; and brothers, William Jr., Gustave and Delbert Appeldorn.
