OBITUARY FOR MRS. JOHN TESCH

Friederika Caroline Christine Tesch was born July 3, 1859 at Clatzow in Pommeranla, Germany. She died on Good Friday, March 30, 1934, in the home of her daughter Emma, Mrs. Myers Lund near Paullina, Iowa.

Her parents were Joachim Graumann and Wilhelmine, nee Schmidt. At the age of eleven, in 1870, she came with her parents to America, locating at Lansing, Cook county, Ill. At Lansing she was married to Mr John Tesch August 20, 1880.
In 1883 the Tesch family moved to Caledonia township, O'Brien county, where they resided till 1910, when they retired from active farm life and moved to Paullina.

In December, 1923, Mr Tesch died rather suddenly at the age of 68 years. Mrs. Tesch had made her home with her children, lastly with her daughter Emma, Mrs. Myers Lund. The last years of her life were trying ones, but she bore her cross patiently.

Her sons are John Mesner, Robert Tesch and Erdman Tesch. One other son died. The daughters are Wilhelmine, Mrs. H. E. Massmann, Emma, Mrs. Myers Lund, Ida, Mrs. Kuester Besides these children there survive 36 grand children and 26 great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother

Mrs. Tesch was buried on Easter Monday, April 2, 1934. in the Lutheran cemetery at Germantown. Funeral service was held for her at Zion Lutheran church In Paullina, where she was a member, her pastor, the Rev. J. Hartmeister, officiating. Her age at the time of death was 74 years, 8 months and 27 days.
