Mrs. Lillian H. Meyer, the only daughter of William A. Friedrich and Louise (nee Hohlt) was born at Alton, Illinois on July 25, 1887. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alton. She received her elementary education in the school system at Alton and after two years of High School, she attended the Ursuline Academy where she graduated from a course of Stenography and Typewriting. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for the Sparks Milling Company of Alton, until the time of her marriage.

On May 12, 1915 she was united in marriage to Albert H. Meyer of Paullina, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Meyer made their home in Paullina and spent their entire lives at the same residence and were associated with The First National Bank of Paullina. Mr. Meyer served as President of the bank from 1935 until his passing.

In November, 1963 Mrs. Meyer's life was saddened by the loss of her beloved husband, Albert. During her lifetime, Mrs. Meyer was always interested in music. As a young lady she served Trinity Lutheran Church in Alton, Illinois as its organist. She was a charter member of the Paullina Federated Music Club and was also a member of the Expression Group of the Paullina Women's Study Club. Mrs. Meyer was also a charter member of the Dorcas Society of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of Paullina and for many years served as a part-time organist and sang in the adult choir.

In the evening of November 9, 1968 Mrs. Meyer suffered a cerebral hemmorrage and entered the Community Memorial Hospital at Hartley.

On the morning of January 2, 1969, the Lord called her to her eternal home in heaven at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 7 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her four children, namely; Mildred, (Mrs. Joel T. Hartmeister of Aspen, Colo.), James F of Paullina, Helen Louise at the home in Paullina and Harold L. of Littleton, Colo She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one son-in-law and two daughters-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of Paullina on Sunday, Jan. 5, 1969 The Rev Melvin Thur officiated. Mrs. Lois Hohenstein sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Just As I Am", accompanied by Mr. N. Behrens, organist. Pallbearers were: Lorenz Meyer, Ray Meyer, Orville Meyer, John Engelke, Robert Engelke and Wesley Niebuhr

Final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa
