MARTHA LANGE 1891 - 1968

Mrs. Martha Lange, daughter of Chris and Caroline Wrede, was born November 29, 1891, near Germantown, Iowa. She was baptized, educated and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John's Lutheran Chuch at Germantown.

In 1910, she was united in marriage to Edward Lange. To this union seven children were born. Mr and Mrs. Lange farmed in the Paullina and Sutherland area for many years and retired and moved to Paullina in 1957. In 1960, Mr. and Mrs. Lange had the happy occasion to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

In 1963, Mrs. Lange's life was saddened by the loss of her husband. During the past four years, her daughter, Eleanor, and husband had been living with her in Paullina. For many years she was an active member of the Sutherland Ladies Aid and of the Zion Aid in Paullina.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her family, namely her one son, Harold of Paullina; three daughters, Eleanor, Mrs. Sike Parizek of Paullina; Helen, Mrs. Alfred Recker of Cleghorn and Marlys, Mrs. Jack Ault of Pampa, Texas.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Sophie, Mrs. Fred Seemann of Paullina; Tillie Wrede of Paullina and one brother, Herman of Alta, Iowa.

Her husband, two sons and one daughter preceded her in death.
