Funeral Services For Mrs. Sophia Seemann Are Held Monday Morn

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Seemann were held Monday morning, March 10 from the Zion Lutheran church of Paullina. Mrs. Seemann passed away Saturday at the Spencer hospital.

Rev. Donald Johnson officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Harry Lietz, Erwin Heimsoth, Wayne Wrede, Wendell Ottum, Harold Lange and Steve Recker. The congregation sang two hymns and -Mrs. Clarence Hlbbing was organist.

Final resting place was in Prairie View cemetery near Paullina.

Sophia Seemann, the daughter of Chris Wrede and Caroline, nee. Egdorf, was born on February 23, 1886 at Paullina, Iowa. She was baptized: and confirmed in the Lutlieran faith at St John's, in Germantown.

In March of 1911 she was united in marriage to Fred Seemann. They farmed in the Illinois area for many years and moved back to this area in 1932. In 1961 Fred and Sophia had the happy occasion to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

In 1962 Fred passed away. Sophia had been in failing health the past few years and passed away on Saturday, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital. She attained the age of he attained the age of 89 yeans and 15 days.

Left to mourn her passing are her sisters, Tillie Wrede and Mabel, Mrs. Martin Dornbusch, of Paullina. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
