1889 - JAMES WIESE - 1966

James Wiese, son of Ferdinand Wiese and Mary Hansen Wiese, was born September 5, 1889, at Larrabee in Cherokee County, Iowa, and passed away suddenly at his home in Calumet on September 29, 1966. He was 77 years and 24 days of age.

His entire lifetime was spent in the Larrabee and Calumet vicinity. He attended the rural schools in Cherokee County. In his early life he worked as a farm laborer making his home with his brother, Edward. He retired to his present home in Calumet in 1935. He was baptized and confirmed in the United Church of Christ in Calumet serving as custodian and board member for several years. At present, he was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Johannes and Edward two sisters, Mrs. Ella Eggers and Mrs. Emma Dau, and one nephew Roy Dau.

Survivors include his 14 nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Burial was in the Liberty Township Cemetery at Calumet.
