Truman Kruse (1903-1986)

OBITUARY

Truman Kruse, the son of John F. and Emma Mehrens Kruse, was born July 10, 1903 in Cherokee County, Iowa. He attended schools in Cherokee County and later in O'Brien County. Truman was baptized on November, 1903, at Zion Lutheran Church in Calumet and later confirmed on April 10, 1917 at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

On February 24, 1928, he was united in marriage to Verna Richter in Germantown, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed in O'Brien County for many years before moving into Paullina in 1979.

Truman passed away on Saturday, May 31, 1986, at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 82 years, 10 months and 21 days.

Truman leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Verna of Paullina; two sons, Ronald Kruse of Paullina and James Kruse of Granville; three grandchildren: Scott, Korey and Tyler Kruse Kruse; two sisters: Mrs. Ella Lange of Sheldon and Mrs. Rosetta Brockmann of Paullina; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Grace Joann and his parents.

Services Held for Truman Kruse

Services for Truman Kruse were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 1986, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Germantown, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were Leslie Richter, Martin Tressler, Wallace Fiddelke, Weber Clayton, Kenneth Straub and Wilbur Kaiser. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" was sung by Charles Brockmann and "How Great Thou Art" and "I'm But a Stranger Here" were sung by the congregation with Mrs. Verla Hibbing at the organ. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richter were in charge of flowers.

The final resting place is St. John's Lutheran Cemetery at Germantown, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.
