Edgar Brockmann Services Held

Edgar Brockmann, retired farmer and resident of the area, died in the Orange City Hospital June 14. He was 73.

Edgar Emil Edward Brockmann, the son of John D. Brockmann and Sophie Goehrs, was born July 20, 1904 in Caledonia Township. He was baptized by Pastor C.F. W. Brandt on July 24, 1904. On March 24, 1913 he was confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown by Pastor F.W.G. Potratz. He remained a lifelong active member of this church and had special interest in the Lutheran Laymen's League, Camp Okoboji and Boys Ranch, Minot, N.D.

He was married to Rosetta Kruse on Sept. 12, 1928. He lived all his life in the Germantown area and farmed for 38 years. He had been active in 4-H, served on the O'Brien County Fair Board, and was township clerk for 30 years. He worked for 21 shows at the San' Antonio Livestock Exposition in Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John, and three sisters: Marie Hoermann, Adella Holtorf, and Lydia Holtorff.

Survivors include his wife, Rosetta; his five children.: Carol Jean (Mrs. Martin) Tressler of Paullina, Rodney Brockmann of St. Charles, Ill., Roma Lee (Mrs. Alvin) Fahlenkamp of Clackamas, Ore., Paul Brockmann of Milwaukie, Oregon, and Mary Alice (Mrs. Arthur) Goldgrabe of Kennewick, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and one brother, Erwin of Paullina.

Private interment services were held Friday, June 16 at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial services were held at the church on Saturday, June 17 at 2:30 p.m.
