Mrs. Henriette Boldenow

Mrs. Henriette Boldenow died Saturday, May 15, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Pauling of Germantown. The immediate cause of death was apoplexy from which she suffered a stroke on Thursday of last week. From that time she sank slowly until death came upon her at 10:30 Saturday evening.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 frrom the home and two o'clock at the Lutheran church at Germantown. The services were in charge of Rev. Potratz and Rev. A.Semmann. Interment was at Prairie View cemetery besides her husband who predeceased her [] a few years.

The deceased was born at []dorf, Germany February 23, 1853. At the age of nine years, she came to America with her parents who made their first home in this country in New York state. After residing there for a year, her parents moved to Cook county, Ill which was the family home for twenty years. It was while residing in Cook county Ill that she was confirmed to the Lutheran church and met and married Julius Boldenow.

In 1883, Mr. and Mrs. Boldenow and family moved to O'Brien county taking up their residence in Caledonia township on a farm. After years of residence on the farm the home was established in Paullina where Mr. Boldenow died October 2, 1911. After the death of her husband, the deceased continued to make Paullina her home until the last year which she has spent in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pauling, at Germantown.

The deceased was the mother of ten children, three of who preceeded her in death, seven living to mourn the death of the mother. Those living are four sons, William, Henry, Fred and Ludwig; and three daughters, Marie, Mathilda and Louise. The other relatives who mourn at this time are thirty-six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a sister.
