Spencer Towe Is Buried Here; Was Former Resident

Spencer Towe, 73, who was born at Paullina and lived in this community much of his life, died April 23 at the Worthington, Minn., hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held April 26 at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and at Gaudian Funeral Home, Paullina, with burial in Prairie View Cemetery, here. The Rev, Russell Tate officiated.

Spencer Towe was born November 26, 1891 at Paullina, a son of Severt and Maria Groten Towe. He was graduated from Paullina High School in 1909. He joined the armed forces In World I in 1918 and was a charter member of Russell West post of the American Legion.

He was married to Edith McCauley at Paullina They farmed near here until retirement in 1944, when they moved to Primghar. Mrs. Towe's death occurred while there.

In 1933 Mr. Towe was married to Bertha Towe. They lived at Primghar until moving to Worthington, Minn., in 1956.
