Maggie Eldredge services Monday

MARCUS — Mrs. Clarence (Maggie) Eldredge, 78, of Marcus, died Friday morning at Floyd Valley Hospital, Le Mars, after a brief illness. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church here. The Rev. Brian McNamara will officiate. Burial will be at the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Earnest Funeral Home, Marcus. Visitation after 11 a-m. Sunday with family visitation from 7 to 9 pan.

Maggie Wittrock was born Feb. 2, 1908 at Canistota, S.D. to Herman and Maimie Jurgensen Wittrock. On Nov. 12,1931, she married Clarence "Shorty" Eldredge at Sioux Falls, S.D. She worked as a paper hanger in the Cleghorn and Marcus areas. She was a member of the Marcus Senior Citizens and an active bowler in the Ladies Tuesday Afternoon League.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Duane Eldredge, Cherokee; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Elvera) Specht, Cleghorn, Mrs. Verlon (Darlene) Tesch, Paullina, and Mrs. Donald (Charlotte) Barnes, Westminster, Calif.; one brother, Russell Wittrock, Sioux Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Wilson, Paullina, and Mrs. Mavis Westphal, Phoenix; nine grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, one sister and three brothers.
