Dietrich (Dick) Seevers (1888-1975)

Dietrich George Seevers, the son of Heinrich and Anna Luhrs Seevers, was born in Schnepke, Hannover, Germany on January 25,1888. He passed away at the Rest Haven Manor at Primghar, Iowa on March 10, 1975 at the age of 87 years. He had been a resident there since 1970.

He attended school in Germany and served in the German Army in World War I. He came from Germany to Primghar, Iowa at the age of 35 and has lived in the Primghar and Calumet areas ever since.

He was united in marriage to Dora Margarete Thielbar on December 3, 1922, at Heiligenfelde, Germany. To this union one son was born who died in infancy.

He was a former member of Zion United Church of Christ at Calumet, Iowa. For many years he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dora in 1967 and the infant son. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
