Obituary of Mrs. E. R. Tesch

Mrs. E. R. Tesch was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Johannsen. She was born August 9, 1890, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. When Mrs. Tesch was ten years of age, the family emigrated to America, settling at first near Gladbook, Tama county, Iowa. For a number of years, Mr. Johannsen farmed near Calumet, Ia. and then moved to Huron, S.D. where he still has his home with his children. Mrs. Johannsen died in March of the present year.

Dec. 22, 1914 Miss Johannsen was united with Mr. E.R. Tesch who is a native of O'Brien county and operates a farm two miles south of Germantown. This union was blessed with two children, one son, Orville and one daughter, Orphie, who are both in their parental home.

Mrs. Tesch had been ailing for a number of years and she was almost continually under the care of physicians. As had been the case at different times, her condition again became acute during the past winter. She received the best of medical care, and during the week last week of her sickness, a registered nurse gave her constant attention. For a time there was a marked improvement of her condition, but a sudden relapse consumed her vitality and in the early hours of May 3, she peacefully passed away, having attained the age of 41 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. E.R. Tesch, two children, Orville and Orphie, her aged father, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services which were held Friday afternoon were in charge of the local pastor. Interment was made in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery at Germantown.
