Blanche F. Koch

Funeral services for Blanche F. Koch were held at the United Methodist Church in Royal on Saturday, April 27, 1991, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Larry McCann officiated. The ushers were John Roberts and Elliot Roberts. Interment was at Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City, Iowa, under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home Service.

OBITUARY

Blanche Frances Kotrba, the daughter of John and Bessie (Jelinek) Kotrba, was born at Niobrara, Nebraska, on May 9, 1917. She received her education in Nebraska.

On June 12, 1937, Blanche was united in marriage to Anton Turek in the Trinity Evangelical Church in Chicago, Ill., and to this union three children were born. In 1947, the Turek family moved to Albert City, Iowa, where they transferred their church membership to the Evangelical Covenant Church, where the family attended and the children were confirmed.

During her lifetime, Blanche had been employed at various occupations, the latest was a nurse's aide with home health care. Anton died in 1959.

Later in 1966, she was united in marriage to Raymond W. Koch and resided in their home at Gaza and gained a wonderful family of stepchildren. Raymond died on December 22, 1981.

Blanche died at the Baum-Harmon Hospital at Primghar, Iowa, on April 25, 1991.

She is survived by her children: Lori and Frank Nichols of Amazonia, MO.; Anthony and Leslie of Laguana Beach, Calif.; Margaret and Virgil Hart of Belevidere, Ill.; stepchildren: Wilbur and Lillian Koch of Ute, IA.; Dorothy and George Thiessen of Hawthorne, Calif.; Norma and Ed Hattermann of Paullina; his Koch of Storm Lake, IA and Leonard and Shirley Gries of Cherokee, IA; 16 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Marie Kotrba of Palatine, 111.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Myrle and Arlan Roberts of Royal, IA.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one grandchild; four brothers and one sister.

She will be remembered by her family and friends for the enjoyment she received from fishing, dancing, playing cards, quilting and doing craft work. Blanche also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizen's Center at Spencer.
