Death Claims Former Resident:
Last Rites for Orville Henderson

Orville (Slim) Henderson, 63, well known lifetime resident of Cherokee and Paullina vicinities, died Monday at 7 a.m. in Cherokee, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., at Boothby Funeral Home at Cherokee, with the Rev. Elain[illegible] officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Irma) Ehrich of Cherokee, with whom he made a home the past five years. A son, Russell Henderson of [illegible]Calif., and four grandchildren.

His wife, Hazel Carlson Henderson, preceded May 11, 1951.

Orville Henderson was born in Cherokee county March 11, 1893, the son of George R and Sarah C. Henderson. He attended rural schools near the home farm six miles south of Paullina, and Paullina high school.

On Feb. 17, 1915, he was married to Hazel Carlson. The couple farmed for many years and later moved into Paullina. He then worked for O'Brien County, on the highway maintenance crew. After the death of his wife, he moved to Cherokee to be with his daughter and family.

Pall bearers will be Ronald Ehrich, Floyd Ehrich, Robert Montgomery, Robert Thomas, Charles Crocker, all of Cherokee, and Ted Jaynes of Webb.
