DEATH AT HOLTGREWE HOME

1883 Anna Geringer Holtgrewe 1907

The Silent Messenger came to the home of Benjamin Holtgrewe, in Cherokee county, on the first day of the year and took away his young wife, leaving to mourn the loss the husband and three children, the youngest a babe of eight months. The lady was recovering from an attack of typhoid fever but complications appeared at the time and caused her death.

Deceased was a sister of Mrs. Theo. Moll and Chas. Geringer of this place and a daughter of N. Geringer and wife of Cherokee county and well known here.

The funeral will be conducted from the home tomorrow afternoon by Rev O. H. Horn of Germantown. Interment will be at Prairie View, Paullina.

Anna Geringer was born June 13, 1883; died January 1, 1907. She was married July 24, 1900, to Benjamin Holtgrewe. The greater portion of her life was spent on the home farm of her father's and after the marriage she went with her husband to a farm near Marcus where her death occurred.
