1855 AUGUST WITTROCK 1938

August Wittrock Senior was one of the older men of the Germantown community. Having been born in Sulingen, in the province of Hanover, Sept. 4th, 1855, he came to the Germantown community in 1887, in July of that year.

He had a wife and four children. Four more were added to the family here. His wife died April 30. 1926. Since then father Wittrock has made his home with his children.

The weakness of old age was upon him for some time, but lately he had the misfortune to fall and receive an internal Injury which greatly accelerated his demise. He died last Tuesday evening a little after seven o'clock, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 4 days. He was buried on Friday afternoon at one o'clock from the home of his son-in-law Christ Ebel in Germantown.

One daughter, Mrs. Auguste Bahde, preceded the father in death. Another daughter and six sons survive the father. They are Albert and August Wittrock of Pipestone, Minn., Emil of Iona, Minn., George of Truman, Minn., Fritz of Clear Lake, S.D., Louis of Germantown, and Mrs. Christ Ebel, Louise, with whom he lately had made his home in Germantown.

There are 39 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The funeral was in charge of the Rev J Hartmeister of Paullina.
