Roy S. Lundell, 92, of rural Paullina, Iowa passed away Friday morning, May 1, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma following a one month illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 6 from the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, rural Meriden, Iowa. Pastor Warren Coe officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery, rural Meriden. There was a family prayer service at the Church on Wednesday.

He was born February 15, 1900 in Liberty Township, Cherokee County, Iowa to John and Bertha Johnson Lundell.

He was married to Florence Anderson on February 22, 1923 in Cherokee County, Iowa. He had farmed all his life.

He had resided in Corn, Oklahoma with his daughter the past 2 1/2 years, before this living on a farm in Liberty Township near Paullina, Iowa.

He was a member of the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, having held various positions on many boards of the Church. He had been a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. He had served for 4 years on the district board and 6 years on the Overseas Mission Board of the Evangelical Free Church. He had also been Chairman of the Christian Mens Fellowship. His Christian activity went beyond his own Church by being active with the Sioux City Gospel Mission for 36 years and serving as Chairman of that Board for 20 years. He had been a Board member of the Rural Electric Cooperative for 25 years. He served on the State Board of the Institute of Coops for 6 years, a Board member of the Paullina Farmer's Elevator for 8 years, and had been a Township Trustee in Liberty Township for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers Elmer, Harry, and Ernest Lundell, and one sister Ellen Ivarson.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, two daughters and their husbands: Maxine and Milton Anderson, Corn, Oklahoma and Evelyn and Howard Miles, Australia; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two brothers: Bert Lundell, Cleghorn, and Dr. Clarence Lundell, Los Alamitos, CA.
