Death of Uncle Charley Sprague.

News of the death of "Uncle Charley" reached here yesterday by letter which was written after his burial. He had been a sufferer for several years with rheumatism and his friend and relatives were aware that the end might come at any time. He left Paullina last fall after a residence here of nearly fourteen years. He was well and favorably known by all of the older residents of the the town and all his acquaintances were sorry to hear of his death.

The funeral was held at New Bedford, Illinois, last Sunday, the ceremonies being in charge of tho old soldiers.

Charles Wesley Sprague was born in Putnam county, Illinois, October 2, 1839; died February 28, 1901, aged 61 years, 4 months and 26 days. His death occurred at the home of his niece, Mrs. Dennis Draper, in New Bedford, Bureau county, Illinois. Deceased served his country in the civil war. He had been married and lost his wife and two children several years ago by death. Mr. Isaac Sprague of this place is the only near relative who is left to mourn his loss.

Notes: The niece with whom Mr. Sprague stayed in his declining days was Viola Florence Wilson Draper, the daughter of William and Nina (Sprague) Wilson. Nina would be Charley's sister. Viola is buried at Greenville/Fairfield Union Cemetery, Bureau County, Illinois, where Mr. Sprague is also at rest.

Charley and Nina's parents are unknown.
