JOHN L. PORTH

Funeral services were held
on Thursday, May 19.1983
at the United Methodist Church
at Schaller, Ia. at 10 :30am.
Officiating clergyman Rev.
Pacifico G. Camarin, Jr.
Music was provided by Mrs.
Ronald Grieme who was
accompanied by Mrs. James
Cole.

Pall-bearers were: Robert
Porth Dale Porth, Larry
Porth. Neal Strutzenberg,
Jimmy Weatherman and Bob
Weatherman.

Caring for the floral
arrangements were Mrs.
Elmira Alderson and Mrs. Wayne
Siebrecht.

Burial was made at the Oakland
Cemetery near Peterson,
Ia. with the Farber and Otteman
Funeral Home of Schaller,
Iowa in charge.

John Louis Porth was born
on March 10, 1916 in Calhoun
County at Manson. Ia, He
passed away on May 16th, 1983
at the Buena Vista County
Hospital in Storm Lake following
a short illness. His parents were
Charles and Frieda Voss Porth.

He married Berniece Heick
Meyer on Sept. 14, 1963 at the
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Cherokee. Iowa.

Former Peterson residents.
John and Bernice had lived
in Schaller for the last
16 years. They managed
a residential care facility
until their retirement in
Sept. 1980.

Preceding him in death
were his parents. two brothers:
William and Carl and one
sister, Anna.

Survivors, besides his wife
include two step -children,
Richard A. Meyer. stationed
with the airforce at Omaha ,
and Mrs. Gordon (Sharon A.)
Stowell of Dubuque , la. five
step grandchildren; two sisters:
Mrs. Elizabeth Craft of Gibson
City. ILL and Mrs. H. H.
(Freda) Van Wyngoreen. Manson.
Ia. and a number of nieces and nephews.
