Funeral services for Delbert Schuknecht were held Monday, December 7, 1992, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Royal, Iowa. Reverend David Nelson officiated. The casket bearers were Orlin Lundbeck, Duane Kracht, Donald Steffen, Russell Christensen, David Abel and William Klatt. The committal service was held at Willow Creek Cemetery at Royal, Iowa, under the direction of the Baumgarten Funeral Home.

OBITUARY Delbert Charles Schuknecht, the son of Herman and Anna Pries Schuknecht, was born April 25, 1923, at Paullina, Iowa. He attended rural schools near his childhood home and the 7th and 8th grade at Zion Lutheran School in Paullina.

He was united in marriage to La Vonne Plagman on November 10, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. They farmed at Paullina for one year, at Peterson, Iowa, for fourteen years and in 1960 moved to a farm near Rossie, Iowa. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Royal, Iowa, and had served as an usher for many years. He passed away at Linn Grove on December 5, 1992, at the age of 69.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers: Harry, Roy and Raymond. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, La Vonne; two daughters: Cynthia and Ronald Behrends of Spencer; Linda Brooks and her husband, Donald of Fairmont, Minnesota; one son: Steven and his wife, Mary of Albert City, Iowa; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters: Nora Feldotto of Paullina; Mildred Guthridge of Kingsley and Mrs. Earl (Norma) Kluender of Cresco; as well as other relatives and many'friends.
