William Henry Jones

William Henry Jones, son of Daniel and Hannah (Teeter) Jones, was born July 9, 1875, at Elkhart, Indiana. He passed away Sept. 25, 1940 at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 16 days. His parents with their family moved to Aurelia, Iowa, when he was five years old, and from there they moved to Kingsley, where he grew to manhood.

On February 20, 1907, he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Sass of Iowa City. To this union five children were born: Marlin of Primghar; Daniel of Paullina; Eva, Mrs. Moats of Spencer; Allyn of Cherokee; Ruby, Mrs. Carl Wallin of Paullina.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Emma Longwell of Kingsley, Mrs. Rose Wiseman of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. Neil Whitesell of Correctionville; two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Jones lived on a farm near Washta until 1915 when they moved to their farm south of Paullina, where they resided until 1939 when they moved to their present home in Paullina.

He always went quietly about his work, and found his greatest contentment in his home and with his family. The friends who came to know him in his years of residence in and near Paullina join with the family in their bereavement.

The following out-of-town relatives attended the funeral services-. Miss Reka Sass, Mrs. R. O. Sass, and W. F. Sass, of Iowa City; Mrs. Emma Longwell, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bollin, and Mrs. and Mrs. Herman Treptow, of Kingsley; Mr and Mrs. Alfred Simonsen, Mrs. Harry Diboldt of Cherokee; Mr and Mrs. Joe Doerr of Emmetsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Toland of Peterson; Mrs. Mary Treptow, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beerman, Mr, and Mrs. Albert Harbolt of Pierson; and Mr and Mrs. Lawrence Moats, and J C. Moats of Spencer.
