Funeral services for Rhiney Massmann were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 1994, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiating. Marv and Bertha Sjaarda and Sylvia Unrau were in charge of flowers. The casket bearers were Rich Frerk, Bernie Paulsen, Tom Lange, Leonard Fiddelke, Fred Massmann and Dean Pottebaum. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

OBITUARY

Rhiney Massmann, the son of Henry and Minnie Tesch Massmann, was born April 12, 1910. On January 25, 1940, he was united in marriage to Irene Fegebank. The couple resided in Paullina where he was a long-time Paullina businessman. He passed away on Thursday, May 5, 1994, reaching the age of 84 years and 23 days. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Rhiney is survived by his wife, Irene of Paullina; one son, Lou and his wife, Linda of Paullina; two granddaughters: Julie (Mrs. Dave) Reinders of Orange City and Jane Massmann of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one great-grandson, Jordan Reinders; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Walter, Harry and Melvin, and one sister, Meta Meyer.
