John Lundquist Jr., the son of Chester and Irene (St John) Lundquist, was born March 23, 1928, in Liberty Township, O'Brien County. Iowa. He received his education in rural schools southeast of Paullina On December 9, 1948, he was united in marriage to Joan J. Reuvers in Sheldon. Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Sheldon area for one year before moving to a farm southwest of Calumet where they farmed for many years. The couple retired from farming in 1990 and remained on the family farm.

His wife preceded him in death on January 3, 2000, in Sioux City, Iowa. John remained on the family farm and passed away there on Thursday, May 19, 2005, reaching the age of 77 years, 1 month and 26 days.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 23, 2005, at Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet with Rev. Fred Moore officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Township Cemetery under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Calumet. He enjoyed farm life, playing cards, fishing, dancing and traveling.

John leaves to cherish his memory two sons and their wives, Jerry and Nancy Lundquist of rural Paullina and Dennis and Marchia Lundquist of Primghar; a loving companion, Lucille Tuel, six grandchildren, Chad and his wife, Kim Lundquist, Jill and her husband, Will Cummings, Jodi Lundquist and her partner Brenda, Tony and his wife, Cathy Lundquist, Tracy and her husband, David Grothaus and Tanya and her husband, Jody Moss; 8 great grandchildren, Mycah Cummings, Carly and Zeke Lundquist, Zach and Rachel Lundquist, Mercedes and Alexus Moss and Hannah Grothaus; three sisters, Joyce Skarin of Onawa, Iowa; Connie Schaa of Longmont, Colorado; and Jeannine and Jerry Litka of Sutherland, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Douglas and Cindy Lundquist of Paullina, Iowa and Gerald and Janet Lundquist of Cleghorn, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Lundquist of Paullina, Iowa; also other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepmother; brother, Delton and a sister in infancy.
