Services held for Ida Beermann [sic throughout]

Funeral services for Ida Beermann were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa, with Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. The casket bearers were Wally Fiddelke, Martin Strampe, Fred Schuknecht, Louis Lange, Edward Beermann and Allen Schuknecht.

Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY

Ida Beermann, the daughter of Carl and Caroline Kruse Dobbertin, was born March 27, 1891, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. She received her education in schools in the Germantown area. She was baptized on April 19, 1891, and later confirmed on March 27, 1904, and was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

On February 7, 1912, she was united in marriage to John H. Lange. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Paullina area. He passed away on September 22, 1919. She then made her home with her brother, Charles Dobbertin and his family and worked for various homes in the area.

On January 20, 1932, she was united in marriage to Clemens Beermann. They spent their married years farming south of Germantown. He passed away on September 21,1954. Following his death, she moved into Germantown until moving to Calumet to make her home.

She then moved to the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina. She passed away at the home on Sunday, March 19, 1995, reaching the age of 103 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Ida is survived by a daughter-in-law Ruth Lange of Yankton, South Dakota; four grandchildren: Jean and her husband, Dean Nieden of North Platte, Nebraska; Roger and his wife, Jackie Lange of Longmont, Colorado; Dennis and his wife, Joan Runge of Waukon, Iowa; and Julie and her husband, Bob Rehder of Newell, Iowa; also 12 greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren; also a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, Leonard Lange; and a daughter, Lorraine Runge; parents and nine brothers and sisters.

NOTE: Although there are many Beermanns in the area, Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Beerman's name is spelled with one "n" on their grave stone.
