Services Held Aug. 24 For Walter Puhrmann

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 24, at 1:30 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Lake Park, Iowa, for Walter Puhrmann. Mr. Puhrmann departed this life on August 22, after a lingering illness of over one year, at the age of 64 years, 5 months, and 15 days. The Rev. W. R. Hamilton officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Orville Peters, Donald Ihnen, Raymond Ihnen, Marvin Zaiser, Howard Burnside, William Wintz. Interment was in Silver Lake Cemetery, Lake Park, Iowa.

Walter Puhrmann, son of Mrs. Doris Puhrmann and the late Louis Puhrmann, was born March 7, 1904 in Baker township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church, Germantown.

On January 31, 1934 he was married to Edna Joens of Lake Park. To this union three children were born. One daughter, Cletius of Minneapolis, Minn., two sons. Merle of Moorhead, Minn., and Larry of Trimont, Minn. He farmed in the Lake Park area most of his life until retiring about three years ago.

The deceased is survived by his widow, three children, and four grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Doris Puhrmann, Paullina, and three brothers, Ernest of Granville, Burnel of Peterson, and Marvin of Sheldon, and two sisters, Verna Joens of Everly and Florence Koehlmoos of Paullina. He was preceded in death by his father.
